Sound Installation
Length: Indeterminate

This project was commissioned in late 2018 by the Laboratory of Acoustics and Sound Perception (LAPSo, Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, Buenos Aires, Argentina) and premiered in March 2019. The installation was created for the “Sonic Crystal”, a modular device developed by LAPSo. Each module consists of a grid of 5x4 U-shaped columns that, by refraction and phase interference, directs, focuses, amplifies or attenuates different frequencies in different locations only by means of their geometric configuration. Every module, located at a specific point of the room, contributes to deploy a complex sound. As one walks within the installation, the perception of sound continuously evolves. In this way, the work invites the listener to an exploration of space through sound or an exploration of sound through space.
